Originally built by an Italian race car driver in 1924 as one of LA’s first automobile showrooms, Marvimon has reinvented itself as a stand alone, super-loft open to events, exhibitions, and productions. It now boasts a flowing 7,000 square foot floor plan (4,000 sq ft interior + 3,000 sq ft vertical garden courtyard) melding the interior and exterior areas. This generous floor plan accommodates up to 175 people for garden ceremonies, 175 people for formal sit down dinners, a 250 person cocktail party, and 100 person screenings. Experienced, professional site management through TACT Event Management is offered. Located near Chinatown and surrounded by Elysian and State Historic Parks, it has immediate access to the 110 and 5 freeways and is just minutes to downtown, Silverlake, and Hollywood.
What’s so Green about Marvimon?
Marvimon is green because we’ve reinvented a centrally located, nearly abandoned 80-year-old building that is convenient to a variety of public transportation including the Gold Line and Union Station. We limited the impact from demolition and construction by using as much of the existing structure as possible. Our design reduced the original buildings footprint by 40%, converted that area into a permeable living oasis, and created an ideal environment for productions, events, and ceremonies. We even salvaged lumber from our demolition and recycled it to make Marvimon’s rustic tables, benches, and wainscoting.
Our strategically located over-sized courtyard doors and skylights provide passive lighting, cooling and heating that minimize energy usage throughout the year by taking full advantage of our sunny, breezy, Southern California climate. We increasingly encourage and support green events and introduce our clients to green planners, stylists, and other resources. Marvimon Productions also diligently recycles.
Finally, Marvimon’s multi-use nature lowers it’s environmental footprint- one building performs as a production studio, gallery, event space, office, residence, etc.
